Environmental Responsibility

Fishing is a vital source of food, employment, recreation, trade and economic welfare for people all over the world. At Conservas Garavilla, we do our part to ensure this is true not only for the present, but for generations to come. As a member of the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation, preservation of the marine world is our top priority. We adhere to minimum size limits to safeguard continuity of different marine species. All staff must employ selective fishing methods and display a clear effort to minimize the impact any activities may have on the environment. Additionally, we demand our suppliers meet the standards of conservation and caring for the planet, just as we do at Isabel.

Social Responsibility

At Grupo Conservas Garavilla, social responsibility is defined in three ways: product quality, trade relations and working environment. The quality and safety of our products is of utmost importance. We continuously subject our products to rigorous quality controls. Regarding trade relations, our employees and suppliers are treated with the utmost respect and consideration for human rights. The code of conduct that our company follows is based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights, the conventions and recommendations on the ILO on child labor and working conditions as well as the Code of Conduct issued by the FAO for responsible fisheries.
